Summer Wrap Up

...Annnnddd, it's almost that time AGAIN! This summer flew by. Just got back from vacation, & headed to Vegas with our older kids later next week. Hubby gets the twins. Needless to say, I am a little apprehensive about leaving them for the first time E-V-E-R! I'm sure they will all be fine (I mean the husband).

Yes, I have neglected to post anything since April...whew...but I have been busy. This summer being the first with the twins and our older two has requires some juggling, some learning, and some flexibility. Making time for everyone (including ourselves) can be difficult, and we haven't mastered it yet, but we are well on our way.

...And we have hit the 5 month mark!

It's scary to think that the twins "baby" stage is almost half way over...Noooooooo! I love this phase, and although our current challenges include teething, resulting in sleepless night, the other side of the coin is that they are almost sitting up, are able to grasp toys, are cooing and trying to talk, just started learning baby sign language, and will soon be starting solid food (at 6 months).

 

I feel so lucky to be a parent again, and our older kids are amazing helpers. We are so blessed!

 

The Twins are 4 Months.......

A few photos taken the other day when they turned 4 months old. Right now they are giggling, teething, starting to grasp toys, and making all sorts of cooing noises. They are starting to come into their own, & will be sitting up soon. Yayyyyy!

 

Babiators...for Baby

I saw these on one of my friends babies in a photo, so I just had to get a pair for the twins. Babiators are basically the baby version of aviator sunglasses. Only the cool thing is they have a no-break/no lose policy! You can't beat that can you??

Ready to P.O.P! --from October 3, 2012

A couple weeks before delivering the twins. The photo's are from October 3, 2012, & I delivered at 37 weeks, minus any stretchmarks on October 22, 2012.

 

A Look Back at our Valentine's DIY Treats!

I managed to find the time to bake and mail out quite a few Valentine's sugar cookies (lemon & almond) just before Valentine's Day. I sent them out as DIY gifts to friends and family back home. I miss them all so much.

Here are a few photos of my beginner's endeavours.

I used the sugar cookie recipe from Sweetopia, as well as her Royal Icing recipe. The icing works like a charm, and although I did experience some spreading with the cookies, I'm fairly sure that it's due to the higher elevation where we live.

So there's this thing called Julep...

One of my Instagram friends, Michelle from Texas Tanners blog (who by the way ALSO just had twins) turned me on to Julep. Julep is just plain awesomeness. Julep has the most amazing and beautiful nail polish, nail lacquer, as well as beauty and body products. It works very similar to Birchbox, in that you sign up to become a "Maven" after determining what beauty profile you belong to, then select your monthly subscription. Each month you receive a random shipment, falling within your e color & style category. My subscription was $19.99 a month.

For instance, mine was "Bombshell", so each month I get a full size product and two limited edition nail lacquers.

The first month, I got the start-up kit, which contained 5 nail lacquers and an amazing nude-pink lip gloss that tasted like cupcakes. The bonus was that it didn't taste fake or like chemicals, which many often do.
