What I'm reading now.....

I started this book before the holidays arrived, but as you can see, I'm not quite done. In order to read a novel that is full of facts, and dates, I need absolute quiet. No, I am not someone who can concentrate through the kids fighting, the dog jumping on me, or music playing in the background.

I also have a really bad habit of reading more than one book at a time. I think the reason is that depending upon what's going on, I have to read selectively dependent upon the content of the book. Thus, reading my current book, An Anatomy of Addiction by Howard Markel proves to be a challenge. for lack of a better term, this book is "meaty".

Comprised of an extensive history of the origins of cocoa (Cocaine), as well as the life and time of Sigmund Freud. The book is insanely interesting, and offers information that I never thought I'd come across. For potential readers, know that the book is not a self-help or therapeutic. This is strictly an educational novel, containing data, facts and figures about the beginnings, and integration of cocaine and it's byproducts, into modern society.

Elvis--Our Frenchie

Elvis...what can I say. You are  THE CUTEST DOG EVER! Okay, I may be a bit biased. We are totally best buds!

Elvis is our 1 year old French Bulldog. He hangs with me 1) when I cook, 2) when I work, 3) while I clean, 4) when I watch t.v., ....Okay fine. He hangs with me ALL the time!

Yes, he can be a little pain, & thinks he is a baby, & wants to be held all the time. He follows me everywhere, but I couldn't imagine life without him. He's the best!

Enjoy some photos from 9 weeks till now:

In & Around Great Falls, Montana

Stationed in Great Falls can be filled with mixed emotions. On one hand, it's not the big city we've been used to, & on the other hand, if you get outside the city it's intensely beautiful.

Those qualities make the time we spend here worth it. We have less than a three hour drive to Glacier National Park, 3 hours to Yellowstone, & half a days drive to Seattle, and a couple hours to Canada. You really can't beat that.

So...until we are stationed in a new place, let's enjoy some photos in & around Great Falls..............

Obsession Confessions

I have a problem. I am aware of the problem, but I refuse to get help. My recent obsessions are http://pinterest.com/. let me tell you about Pinterest. Here are all the reasons I think it's okay to waste hours on my iPhone on Pinterest.

1) I find cool ideas for my blogs
2) I am able to promote my blog by posting my photos on Pinterest the link back to my blogs
3) I find things I want to buy
4) I buy things
5) I buy lots of things.......OKAY, this is going downhill....

....OKAY Back to reality-

In addition to those "issues" I have found that http://www.etsy.com/ can be quite addictive.

Through Etsy, (& by the way-you can find virtually any product there) I have found the cutest site named http://whippycake.com/ O.M.G.

They have THE cutest hairbands & hair clips. I just bought the "klepto" applique which is soooooooooooo cute: http://whippycake.com/shop/swanky-souffle/klepto/.
You must, must, must check it out.

They have some other adorable ones as well like:

From Etsy I also found http://www.etsy.com/shop/yarntwisted?ref=seller_info (Yarntwisted) & got the red headband/ear-warmer. For those of us living in the frozen tundra, there are days you hair looks semi-cute, & you don't want to mess it up by putting a big hat over it, yet you still want your ears to be warm. Here is the solution: And yes, she DOES have cute hair.

Snow

I didn't exactly travel anywhere, but I was inspired by the beautiful snowy-foggy morning to take some winter photos. I love mornings like this, although 5 degrees is pretty chilly. Enjoy!

San Luis Obisbo, CA

WE enjoyed the twice a week farmers market in "SLO", as well as the shopping and cool "young" vibe of the city. This is a place we visited regularly when stationed in California. Set inland from the coast and not too far for a quick evening drive, or dinner out.

We found a beautiful little Japanese style garden right near the city center:
