Hearst Castle, California Part 1

This is a "bucket list" location to see at some point during your life. The story of william Randolf Hearst in itself is interesting & quite amazing. The fact that this amazing and beautiful mansion, which is now a National Park exists along the coastal highway, but high enough up in the hills to where you barely know it is there is even more amazing. Although it is a bit expensive, it is well worth the trip & expense.

The style resembles something out of ancient Greece, surrounded by beautiful gardens, overlooking the ocean. Hearst Castle is surreal, and it's difficult to believe that this was once someone's home.

We opted for the "sunset" tour, which claims to be the best for photographers. we were not disappointed, and got beautiful photos before and after sunset.

There is a wide array of fruit growing on the premises, but we were instructed first not to pick or touch it. Apparently it is all distributed to the staff, or used as compote for fertilization. Earth friendly.
